Ktima Biblia Chora - Areti White 2022
Situated on the southern slopes of Mount Pangeon in Kavala, 100km east of Thessaloniki. In 1998, the ideal soil and climatic conditions caught the attention of winemakers Vassilis Tsaktsarlis and Vangelis Gerovassiliou and created this privately owned vineyard which today encompasses 48 hectares at an altitude of 380 meters above sea level, drawing the eye to the Aegean Sea in the distance.
The region's great winemaking tradition dates back to ancient times. In the fertile plain of Philippi, at the prehistoric site that archaeologists call Dikili Tas (Standing Stone), some of the oldest traces of viticulture and winemaking in Greece have been discovered, which constitute the oldest evidence to date of the crushing of grapes for winemaking and date back to the Neolithic period (approximately 4,300 BC). Known in ancient Greece as “Biblical Country”
On the nose this wine is expressive, with aromas of citrus fruits, lemon, orange, and tangerine that blend harmoniously with mineral and metallic notes. Its flavor is rich, with excellent structure, balanced acidity and a long aftertaste, showing off the delicious characteristic of Assyrtiko. Enjoy now or let it sit for up to 10 more years.
Pair it with fish and seafood dishes also with white meats with light sauces.
