Borgogno Rivata’s vineyards are spread between the Langhe (La Morra) and Roero (Guarene). Samuele, Alberto, Massimo and Giovanni manage a small operation delivering fantastic wines, among them are Barolo, Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d’Alba and others. Borgogno Rivata also runs a negociant project called Lotti Sparsi that aims to tell stories about grapes and wines that are being lost.
This Dolcetto from Lotti Sparsi (Scattered Lots) is 70% destemmed and 30% whole-cluster, 20-day spontaneous fermentation, aged one year in concrete, unfined, unfiltered.
A light to medium-bodied, crunchy red with aromas of blackberry, plum. Raspberry, fig jam, spicess and a smooth mouthfeel will delight your palate. The finish lingers asking for more. Best served slightly chilled.
Pairs well with prosciutto, salami, pizza, and aged cheeses.
