Château de Gaudou — Puro Cahors Rosé
This is 100% Malbec from 30+ year old organic vines in Cahors hand harvested early in the morning, then made all in cement. Crisp and fresh with red berry fruit and wild flowers. It's a rosé resulting from direct pressing with a pneumatic press (70%) and bleed juice (30%). Fermented in a cement tank, it's lightly fined and minimally filtered to offer round but bright juicy red berry and flower flavors on a refreshing, mineral structure.
The label on this bottle is from a drawing made by the importer’s 6 year old son made during the Pandemic. The winemaker was so impressed with the rainbow drawing that quickly incorporated it into this label. This makes us smile, just like the wine itself.
Pair it with fresh salads, Mediterranean dishes, grilled chicken and pork, and delicious just as an aperitif.
