Domaine Bernard Fleuriet & Fils - La Vauvise Sauvignon Blanc 2024

$27.00

Domaine Bernard Fleuriet & Fils is a family-owned winery located in La Vauvise, near Sancerre and Menetou-Salon in the Loire Valley, France. Founded in the early 1990s by Bernard Fleuriet and his wife, it is now run by their sons Benoît and Mathieu, who have gradually taken over the family legacy. The estate covers approximately 35 hectares of vineyards spread around Sancerre and Menetou-Salon, with plots on the three main Sancerre terroirs: caillottes (limestone pebbles), terres blanches (white soils), and silex (flint). The estate has been certified organic (Agriculture Biologique) since 2016 and has gradually adopted biodynamic practices, achieving Demeter certification around 2021.

La Vauvise” 2024 is a particularly well-crafted entry-level cuvée, made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc and vinified in stainless steel tanks to preserve its full aromatic purity; grown on limestone soils similar to those of Sancerre, this Loire wine charms with its freshness, tension, and minerality, offering a style that is both accessible and authentic.

A precise, vibrant, and approachable organic Sauvignon, that reflects the Fleuriet family’s expertise, combining freshness, balance, and purity in a sincere and elegant expression of Loire identity.

On the nose, it is expressive and fresh, revealing aromas of white flowers, citrus, and white-fleshed fruits; on the palate, the attack is lively and crisp, with beautiful tension, precise and clean fruit, and a balanced, fresh, and thirst-quenching finish.

Pair it with seafood and shellfish, lightly sauced fish, white meats, as well as fresh or goat cheeses, tangy cheesecake, or as an aperitif.
