Domaine Grand Arbois - Trousseau à la Dame Jura 2023

$58.00

Importer’s notes: Nestled in the Jura, Domaine Grand is a story of family, passion, and an unwavering commitment to the land. The Domaine officially took shape in 1970, when André Grand and his brothers expanded the family vineyards to 25 hectares, fully dedicating themselves to viticulture—building on the foundation laid by their father, René Grand.

The 2023 Domaine Grand Arbois Trousseau comes from 25-year-old vines of Trousseau à la Dame (maybe the best biotype), truly embodying the essence of Arbois terroir. Grown on a complex mosaic of grey marl and iridescent red marl from the Upper Triassic, with influences from a dolomitic bed, the site brings precision and mineral depth to the fruit. Hand-harvested with meticulous berry selection, the grapes are fully destemmed and undergo fermentation in tank, and at total of six-months maceration before pressing, stabilizing the color and intensifying structure. Gentle pump-overs twice daily are routine, and then followed by a year of aging in vat to preserve purity and vibrancy. Unfined, with only a light plate filtration before bottling, this Trousseau expresses silky red fruit, spice, and Jura’s signature earthiness, all wrapped in a framework of finesse and energy. The aromatics are deeply complex, yet full of life with blue fruits and perfectly ripe red cherries, followed by a light, dainty mouthfeel but with so much grip and savory, earthy dark fruit.

Inspired by Domaine Grand’s wines, (Parisian street artist) Bast created a bold, textured masterpiece for the Domaine - Joachim Werner artfully deconstructed it, weaving its essence into each label to match the energy & spirit behind every wine.

Pair it with a charcuterie board (salami, prosciutto, creamy cheeses), roasted chicken and veggie dishes.
