Clos de Luz Massal 1945 - Malbec
Located in the Almahue Valley, Clos de Luz is a family-owned estate producing wines where attention to detail begins in the vineyard by employing 100% Massal selection from old vineyards, hand harvesting, strict fruit selection, and only indigenous yeast used for fermentation.
The name Massal refers to the traditional method of reproduction, where each plant comes from natural selections rather than clones, preserving the genetic richness and authenticity of the terroir. A wine with history, identity and unique character.
Hand harvested in small crates for strict fruit selection, fermented with indigenous yeasts, with pigeage every 2 days, aged for 10-12 months in 225L and 300L French oak of different ages.
This Malbec from old vines from 1945 has aromas of blue fruits and spices, with fine and powdery tannins, medium to full body and a firm and elegant finish.
A Malbec to drink on its own, with red meat, and with a variety of cheeses (Manchego, aged Gouda, Asiago). Enjoy it now but can also aged well.
