Winemaker’s notes: Fattoria le Masse is family winery that belongs to the Mugnaini family since the early 50s, when Paolo Mugnaini bought the farm.
The passion for our territory has given birth to a project that is based on the practices and principles of biodynamic agriculture, not only as a method to cultivate and produce but also as a way of living and supporting in harmony the environment. We consider ourselves artisans and that is why every phase of the process is as manual as possible, from the harvesting of the grapes to the pressing in the cellar (without the use of pumps during the entire period of fermentation). In the vinification process we do not use selected yeasts, enzymes or bacteria and no type of aromatic additives. The respect of the natural processes of transformation ensures the birth of a wine which is a true expression of its territory.
Santa Goccia, from 40 year old plants, is the old Chianti cut, in which they also used to have white grapes . An authentic Tuscan red with vibrant cherry, raspberry and hints of flinty aroma. The mouse is dry but refreshing, following the cherry, raspberry, blueberry with a dash of green herbs and smokiness. A well-balanced acidity and structure makes it great for tomato-based pasta, charcuterie, bruschetta with olive oil and Pecorino cheese.
Region: Tuscany, Italy
Grape: 70% Sangiovese, 20% Canaiolo, 10% Trebbiano
Vintage: 2022
750 ml
