Geremi - Roxanne Rosato

$32.00

This delicious Rosato from brother and sister Miriam and Renato Mareschi, both grew up working in their parents’ restaurant in Ranuccio until it closed in 2006; Miriam ran the front of the house (becoming the sommelier in 1990) while Renato made the pizzas.

Since 2002, Miriam owns and runs the fantastic trattoria Piazzetta del Sole in the medieval town of Farnese. Always encouraging her chefs to meticulously source ingredients, in the late aughts she found herself wanting to do the same with wine. Having become increasingly enamored with vini naturali, by 2010 Miriam served these exclusively. Wanting to offer her customers and excellent house wine, in 2016 she decided to start a small project of her own. Her brother Renato, who’d made wine with his father and grandfather in his youth (Mr. Mareschi produced wine for personal consumption until 1997), joined her and, in 2017, a white wine called "Itinerae" was produced to be served exclusively at Piazzetta del Sole.

And from their project, among other wines, comes this delicious rose that is juicy, bright, with notes of cherry, pleasurable spices and dried herbs. Its well balanced acidity, and soft tannins will make you go for another glass and better yet, another bottle. Oh! when Renato needed to come up with a name for this rosato, Roxanne by The Police was playing on the radio. Simple as that..

Great for pizza, finger food, or just because.
