‘Rosé à lies’ is a blend of two parcel of Gamay and two parcels of Grolleau. The Gamay is 60 years old and the Grolleau 80 years old. Creamy red fruits on the palate are complemented by tart acidity, and the wine's toasted aromas evoke notes of red currant and raspberry. A wonderful Pet Nat for any celebration or ordinary day thanks to its clean, refreshing, and lengthy finish.
Lise and Bertrand Jousset created their own estate in 2004 in the heart of Montlouis-sur-Loire (20 min driving east of Tours). Bertrand was career military until 1998 when he began a two year degree at Lycée Viticole d’Ambroise followed by 4 years in the field to learn (Switzerland, Loire et Cher, Vouvray and a little bit in Montlouis). Lise’s career started in hospitality after leaving the farm that she grew up on and eventually became a sommelier.
Their passion lies in producing wine for enjoyment and sharing, leading them to engage with fellow enthusiasts through travel and networking. Despite facing challenges like frost damage in recent years, they initiated the Exile project. By collaborating with friends who uphold similar viticultural principles, they expanded their horizons to new terroirs and grape varieties while maintaining their unique winemaking approach.
For Lise & Bertrand the main idea behind the wine is to share it, to connect with people and to transfer their love to the person lucky enough to enjoy it.
