Ori Marani, is an small artisanal winery nestled on the Caucasus Mountain of Georgia, in the village of Igoeti in Shida Kartli region, established in 2017. Georgia is the cradle of viticulture and winemaking where wine has been made for 8000 years using the same artisanal clay vessel called Qvevri. Ori Marani’s primary focus is the artisanal production of sparkling wines. In addition, they also make still wines cuvees.

Our Sparkling wines are made according to the traditional method used in Champagne.  However all our wines are fermented on their indigenous yeasts without any interventions that could compromise the authenticity of the wines, says the winemaker.

Laora is a Non vintage traditional method sparkling wine. Pale rose spicy, earthy and fruity. The color of the wine is coming from a short maceration of Chkhaveri.  The blend changes every year in order to aim Laora's specific stylistic profile. A maximum amount of 10% reserve wine can be used to the final blend. Since 2021, juice in fermentation, from the following harvest, is added during the bottling for refermentation.

Winemaking: 90% old French oak barrels, 10% Qvevri. Wild yeasts, no finning, no filtration. Tirage: September 2022.  15 months on lees minimum/ Extra Brut 5 g/L

A fascinating, enjoyable sparkling wine with notes of raspberry, pomegranate, a touch of earthiness and a delicious saline finish.

Pair it with grilled fish, and seafood (raw or cooked), soft cheeses or just on its own as an aperitif. A ‘conversation wine’ to always remember.
