Rooted in the Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC since the 1950s, Zucchi is a family winery in San Prospero in the heart of the Modena countryside. Bruno Zucchi began making wine from his own vineyards, a passion passed down to his son Davide and wife Maura, who renovated the cellar and expanded the estate.
Today the winery is run by their daughter Silvia, a trained enologist who graduated from the renowned School of Enology in Conegliano. Silvia does it all — tending the vineyards, making every wine in the cellar, and bringing a hands-on precision to everything Zucchi produces. Their focus remains almost exclusively on Lambrusco di Sorbara, one of Italy’s most distinctive and underappreciated sparkling varieties.
This is a red, dry, semi-sparkling Charmat Method wine. The Salamino grapes are hand-picked from the end of September to early October; they undergo cryomaceration for 5 days, soft pressing, the fermentation takes place, using the long Charmat Method at a controlled temperature of 57-61°F for 4 weeks. 11.5% ABV
Think of red cherry, blackberry, raspberry, with a touch of redcurrant. Clean, refreshing and mouth-watering, and you’d like to keep asking for more.
Pair it with tomato-based pasta, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheeses, and a great pizza night wine.
Region: San Prospero, Modena, Emilia-Romagna
Grape: 75% Lambrusco Salamino, 25% Lambrusco di Sorbara
Vintage: 2025
750 ml
