Swick Wines - One Egg Verdelho
Winemaker notes: This wine comes from the mother block of Verdelho in Washington state. We took a portion of the fruit harvested in September 2022 to direct press (no skin contact) and filled up one of our 700 liter concrete egg tanks for fermentation and aging. Fermentation lasted well over a year and the total aging before bottling was almost two years! We love using concrete eggs for aging wines, especially whites, because they enhance the wines with laser-like acidity.
With aromas of peach, honey, and white florals and a textured palate glistening with lime and tropical fruits, it’s a delicious sipper to pair with Portuguese food like bacalhau or shellfish.
Region: Columbia Valley, Oregon
Grape: 100% Verdelho
Vintage: 2022
